HR Generalist

Brooklyn, NY (In-Office Mon-Thurs: 9am-6pm Fri 9am-5pm)

$85K– $120K

Position Overview: A growing service-based operations company is seeking an experienced HR Manager to take full ownership of HR functions across a workforce of 130+ employees. This is a hands-on, independent role focused on strengthening recruitment, ensuring compliance, improving internal processes, and driving accountability across the organization.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Strong, confident HR leader who can operate independently

• Experienced in compliance, employee relations, and workforce management

• Proven ability to recruit effectively and reduce turnover

• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability

• Comfortable enforcing policies and addressing issues professionally

• Organized, process-driven, and solutions-oriented

• Experience with payroll and timekeeping systems (required)

Key Responsibilities:

• Own full-cycle recruitment: sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding

• Conduct reference checks and ensure quality hiring decisions

• Oversee employee relations, write-ups, and disciplinary processes

• Ensure compliance with employment laws, policies, and regulations

• Monitor attendance, timekeeping, and payroll accuracy

• Partner with leadership to improve HR processes and systems

• Maintain HR documentation, policies, and employee records

• Promote accountability and professionalism across the workforce

Qualifications & Must-Haves:

• 3+ years of HR experience in a hands-on, operational role

• Strong knowledge of HR compliance and employment regulations

• Proven recruitment experience (high-volume preferred)

• Ability to work independently and take full ownership

• Experience with payroll and timekeeping systems (required)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Spanish speaking highly preferred
