About the role
A growing organization is seeking an experienced Development Manager / Director of Software Development to lead its software development team and drive technology initiatives. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who can manage developers, oversee projects, improve processes, and provide strategic direction while still being comfortable working within the codebase when needed.
Responsibilities: • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software developers • Oversee software projects from planning through deployment • Review code, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain development standards • Manage releases, deployments, and development workflows • Improve engineering processes, QA practices, and best practices • Partner with leadership to support technology strategy and business goals • Identify technical risks and recommend scalable solutions • Support hiring, team development, and performance management
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience with leadership experience
- Strong hands-on full-stack development background
- Experience with technologies such as .NET, C#, SQL Server, React, Git, or similar
- Proven experience leading development teams and managing software delivery
- Strong understanding of software architecture, security, scalability, and deployments
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Healthcare technology or claims management experience is a plus
