Overview
A new Article 32 outpatient substance use program is seeking an experienced Clinical Director (LCSW) to build and lead the clinical program from the ground up.
This is an opportunity for a strong clinical leader who is excited to build, create, and grow — developing the clinical infrastructure, building the team, and establishing the systems needed for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and develop the clinical program, workflows, policies, and procedures.
• Recruit, hire, supervise, and develop the clinical team.
• Review charts and oversee clinical documentation, treatment planning, and quality of care.
• Ensure compliance with Article 32 requirements, ASAM criteria, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and payer requirements.
• Establish quality assurance, utilization review, and audit processes.
• Oversee day-to-day clinical operations and serve as the escalation point for complex cases.
• Partner with leadership on staffing, program growth, and long-term development.
• Build scalable clinical processes and continuously improve systems as the program grows.
Qualifications
• Active New York State LCSW required.
• 3–5+ years of clinical leadership experience, ideally within substance use treatment.
• Strong experience with chart review, documentation, compliance, and clinical supervision.
• Experience hiring and managing clinicians.
• Knowledge of Article 32 regulations and ASAM criteria strongly preferred.
• Experience building or growing a clinical program highly preferred.
• Hands-on, organized, proactive, and comfortable building structure from the ground up.
• Strong leadership skills with an entrepreneurial, builder mentality.
