Does the job. Service was very low, didn't even offer us water until we asked. Food is okay, not the best I had but also not bad. Good kosher solution and nothing more

China Lee Kosher in Highland Park is one of those places that just works every single time. Whether you’re coming in starving after a long day, grabbing a quick bite with a chavrusa/friend, or ordering for the whole mishpacha (and everyone has “different cravings”), this is the kind of spot that saves the day — calmly, quietly, and deliciously.
First of all: the food. Mamash solid. The flavors are on point, everything tastes fresh, and it’s that classic kosher Chinese comfort that hits you right in the neshama. The sesame chicken is a fan favorite for a reason — crispy, saucy, and impossible to stop eating. The egg rolls? Exactly what you want them to be: crunchy, hot, and gone in 30 seconds. And their fried rice/lo mein situation is the kind of side that somehow becomes the main because you “just keep taking another forkful.” 😄
The menu has a nice range, so whether you’re in the mood for something sweet, spicy, or just basic and comforting, you’ll find it. Also, portions are generous — not stingy, not tiny, not “where did it go?” You order and you feel like a mentch when the food shows up.
The vibe inside is also pleasant — it’s not trying to be over-fancy, but it’s clean, comfortable, and totally fine for sitting down and enjoying a real meal. You can have a normal conversation without shouting, and that alone is a big yes. Service is generally friendly and efficient, and they know how to keep things moving even when it’s busy.
Bottom line: China Lee Kosher is a go-to. Consistent, tasty, good portions, and it scratches that kosher Chinese itch in the best way. Just a heads-up: if you say “we’ll just order a little,” you’re lying to yourself — you’re leaving with extra containers, and you’re going to be very happy about it later. 😄

Despite the positive reputation of the establishment, my experience was marred by consistently poor customer service from the outset. While I do not condone any form of racism, the treatment I received was deeply unpleasant. Simple greetings were met with dismissive attitudes and unnecessary hostility. This created a hostile environment that made me question the value of spending money in a place where I felt unwelcome.

This kosher restaurant serves very good food, with a focus on quality ingredients and careful preparation. While the portions may be a bit smaller than expected, the flavors are complex and satisfying. A bit more noodles would add some welcome heft to the dish. The atmosphere is equally impressive, with a cozy and intimate setting that makes it perfect for special occasions.
