FDOT Notice: Construction Project Along NW 27 Avenue

🚧 Construction is beginning on the FDOT Pedestrian Safety Improvement Project along NW 27 Avenue (S.R. 817) between Sesame Street and Dunad Avenue in Opa-locka. The project includes a new midblock crosswalk, upgraded signals and signage, sidewalk and curb ramp improvements, roadway resurfacing, lighting enhancements, and landscaping upgrades to improve safety for pedestrians and motorists alike. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2026 and is expected to be completed in Fall 2026. Temporary lane closures may occur during construction; however, access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times.
