OpenDor Media is looking for a Director of Finance and Controller to own the accounting and finance function of a global, mission-driven nonprofit with an operating budget of approximately $20 million and growing, with staff across the United States, Israel, the United Kingdom, and South Africa.
This is an exciting time for the finance department: OpenDor Media has just completed a migration from QuickBooks Online to the IES ERP platform, modernized its accounts payable workflow in BILL.com, and is midway through a baseline global corporate governance and compliance review. The role is built for growth, carrying more ownership than the title usually implies because the CFO role is a part-time engagement.
Responsibilities: • Own the general ledger, chart of accounts, and the monthly, quarterly, and annual close calendar across all entities • Prepare consolidated financial statements under U.S. GAAP for nonprofits, including revenue recognition for contributions, grants, and earned revenue • Own accounting and reporting for all non-U.S. operations, including intercompany activity, foreign currency translation, local statutory filings, and payroll tax • Own the internal control environment and serve as primary liaison for the annual audit and Form 990 • Run the annual budget and forecast cycle and serve as finance partner to assigned program divisions • Own operating cash management, banking administration, accounts receivable, and weekly cash and investment reporting • Lead and develop the finance team and serve as functional owner of the finance systems stack
Note: The CFO retains Board and Finance Committee ownership, final budget approval, investment and reserve strategy, and finance policy approval.
