Director of Philanthropic Engagement

About the role

BBYO is looking for a Director of Philanthropic Engagement to secure financial support for BBYO communities, combining relationship-building, strategic planning, and community engagement. This person will develop and execute strategies to engage alumni, parents, and community members in supporting and advocating for BBYO, and will be part of a cross-country development team responsible for engaging external stakeholders in creative and innovative ways.

Responsibilities: • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies including prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors • Set metrics around increased giving, expanding the pipeline, and securing new and increased gifts in the $1,800+ range • Identify and solicit endowment and legacy prospects • Collaborate with program staff to implement #givingBBYOday campaigns in each assigned community • Motivate and support local adult lay leadership to advance regional fundraising goals • Plan fundraising and stewardship events that deepen donor engagement and demonstrate BBYO's impact • Manage grants and relationships with local foundations and Federations as necessary • Increase visibility of BBYO's brand in each assigned community

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in major gifts development for a nonprofit organization or political campaign
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree welcome
• Prior success developing and implementing fundraising strategies, including event planning experience
• Strong listening and public speaking skills; ability to work with different constituents
• Knowledge of the Jewish community and familiarity with Jewish nonprofit organizations preferred
• Travel 25%+, including Staff Conference, BBYO International Convention, and community fundraising meetings
• Salary: $80,000-$100,000
