About the role
Booth Ambassador: URJ Biennial 2026 (Philadelphia)
Southern Jewish Journeys is an educational travel company that creates custom group trips to the Jewish South for synagogues, Federations, schools, and other communal organizations. We currently operate in Charleston, Savannah, and New Orleans, cities with 300+ years of Sephardic and Ashkenazi history.
We'll be exhibiting at the URJ Biennial (December 10-13, 2026) in Philadelphia, PA, and we're looking for an outgoing, personable Booth Ambassador to support our founder at the booth. You'll greet attendees, start conversations, and help promote Southern Jewish Journeys to Executive Directors, Rabbis, lay leaders, and other communal professionals.
WHAT YOU'LL GET
• Full URJ Biennial registration (a $795 value), covering all sessions, events, and conference meals, paid for by Southern Jewish Journeys
• $300 stipend
• Flexibility to enjoy the conference - When the booth is quiet, you're free to attend sessions and explore the exhibit hall.
This is a great fit for someone who wants a free pass to the Biennial and a little extra income along the way.
SCHEDULE AND HOURS
This is a temporary assignment, December 10-13 only. The exhibit hall hours are:
• Thursday, Dec. 10: 9 am - 9 am
• Friday, Dec. 11: 9 am - 4 pm
• Saturday, Dec. 12: 5 pm - 9 pm
• Sunday, Dec. 13: 9 am - 12 pm
Candidates must be available for the full conference, but you won't be working the entire time. We expect 15-20 working hours in total, concentrated during busy periods in the exhibit hall.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Outgoing, professional, and personable, comfortable starting conversations with new people
• Local to the Philadelphia area and available during all conference hours (required)
• Prior conference or trade show experience preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of Southern Jewish history preferred, but not required
