The Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County is recruiting Community Connectors: Jewish joy spreaders and relationship-builders who can't help but invite someone along and make others feel they belong. Each Connector builds a micro-community around a shared identity or interest (such as young adults, LGBTQIA+ individuals, grandparents or Jewish learning) and turns everyday conversations into lasting relationships and deeper connection to Jewish life. This is a one-year contract role, renewable based on program needs and mutual agreement.
Responsibilities: • Build genuine relationships within your micro-community, welcome newcomers, and follow up to keep them connected • Make warm introductions to other people, programs and resources • Host or invite people to gatherings and Jewish experiences, from Shabbat dinners and holiday celebrations to coffee dates and happy hours • Deliver a monthly Shalom Neighbor experience • Keep people connected through Federation WhatsApp groups and social media • Document relationships and engagement in Federation-approved systems
Commitments: • Four relationships a month (two new, two continuing) • 12 meet-ups or experiences per year • One Shalom Neighbor experience per month • Weekly activity reports and monthly check-ins with the Community Connections Engagement Officer
Compensation: $6,000 a year, paid at $500 per month, subject to completing the deliverables and reporting.
Connectors receive ongoing coaching, Jewish learning and training, and a cohort of fellow Connectors to learn and grow with.
