MJCCA Basketball Scorekeeper Men's/Women's Basketball League & Youth Basketball Leagues

Job Description The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) is seeking reliable and enthusiastic individuals to serve as basketball scorekeepers for our Men's Basketball League and Youth Basketball Leagues. Scorekeepers play an important role in ensuring games run smoothly, accurately tracking game information, and helping create a positive experience for players, coaches, and spectators.

Responsibilities Operate the electronic scoreboard and game clock throughout games. Accurately record team scores, personal fouls, team fouls, and timeouts. Maintain the official scorebook and track player participation when required. Communicate with referees regarding fouls, timeouts, substitutions, and game clock adjustments. Follow league-specific rules and procedures for game timing and scoring. Arrive on time and ensure all scoring equipment is set up and functioning before games begin. Report any issues or concerns to the Sports Department. Maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward players, coaches, referees, and spectators.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of basketball rules and gameplay.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused during games.
• Dependable, punctual, and responsible.
• Comfortable operating a scoreboard and keeping accurate records.
• Ability to communicate effectively with referees and league staff.
• Previous scorekeeping experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
• Schedule
• Men's Basketball League
• Primarily weekday evenings.
• Games are held at scheduled times throughout the season.
• Youth Basketball Leagues
• Primarily Sundays, with some weekday evening opportunities.
• Games take place throughout the winter basketball season.
• Additional Information
• This is a part-time opportunity (seasonal position for Youth Sports) with opportunities to work multiple games per shift. Scorekeepers are expected to maintain a positive, professional attitude and help ensure a smooth game-day experience for everyone involved.
